I saw Dr Bigelow on a documentary named as "The Brain", he was helping Gerald, a young guy that suffered from a terrible case of paranoid schizophrenia.

I was so intrigued by it, that I've phone called Dr Bigelow a few years ago, maybe 3 years, to ask about the outcome of the patient, Gerald.

At that time he couldn't help me with the information about Gerald, maybe because of the medical ethic. But I'm sure that Dr. Bigelow was a great man.

I was about to call him again, but I saw this page.

Rest in peace, Dr.

With best regards for the family, here from Brazil.

Dr. Bigelow helped me greatly at a very low period in my life. I shall be forever grateful to him. He was an extraordinarily kind man and I feel privileged to have known him.

Condolences and greetings to you all. My memories of Lee are mostly at Alamoosook Island Camp and his skillful navigation of the Alamar through fogs and obscure shorelines. He also helped me end up in med school which was a very good step even though I did not persist in that path. He was a beautiful generous spirit as I recall him. Grateful to have known him. Sending good wishes to you both ver distance and long time.

I worked with Lew at the NIMH in the 1990s and always enjoyed his company. He took me and some other young researchers sailing up in Maine one summer, which is a memory that I will always cherish.

Lew had a wry sense of humor which he shared readily. As a close friend of my parents, he was that trusted adult who I felt I could call in a pinch if needed. I learned sailing and life lessons from him. My heart goes out to his family.

Lew was a huge mentor of mine and a big influence in my life. The world is the poorer without his presence in it. My love to his family.

We were very sorry to hear of Lew's passing and wish to extend our deepest sympathy. Lew has been a long time supporter of Seaport's work and was always so gracious in his expressions of gratitude for our mission.

Lew was a friend of mine at NIMH and despite the hierarchy there, he treated everyone with respect. He was a role model to many. He will be missed. I am truly sorry that he left this earth. My thoughts are with you.
