LOIS HATCH Obituary


LOIS ROUSSEAU HATCH  
Of Alexandria, VA, died December 8, 2017 at Alexandria Hospital. Born May 17, 1919 in Washington, DC to Fannie Elizabeth Feddon and Raymond Edward Rousseau. She grew up in Washington and graduated from Eastern High School. After graduation, she worked for Riggs Bank and modeled for Woodward & Lothrop's department store. She married Norman T. Hatch in 1942 and moved to Alexandria in 1943. She worked as an executive secretary for several insurance and real estate companies in the city and had her real estate and insurance license. She was very active in her community as a member of Grace Episcopal church; the Salvation Army Auxiliary; a driver of Meals on Wheels and a member of the Little Theater. At home, she enjoyed entertaining family, friends and neighbors; working in her garden and caring for her animals. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Norman. She is survived by her son, N. Thomas Hatch and daughter, Colby G. Hatch, both of Alexandria. Visitation will be held at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Rd. on January 4, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 3601 Russell Rd, January 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Barnabas' Episcopal Church, 5203 St. Barnabas Rd., Temple Hills, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria or a charity of your choice.
