Lon Rubin Obituary



RUBIN LON B. RUBIN On October 15, 2008, LON B. RUBIN, age 75, died peacefully after a long struggle with Parkinson‘s disease. Lon was born and raised in Washington, D.C. After graduating from Calvin Coolidge High School, he earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Maryland. He began his career as a CPA while working his way through law school. He received his J.D. degree with honors from the George Washington Law School and was admitted to the Maryland bar. Early in Lon‘s career, he worked for the National Association of Home Builders and wrote The National Compendium for Condominiums during the Kennedy Administration. He went on to have a long successful real estate development career. Lon Rubin is survived by his life partner Rodney Edmondson; former wife, Barbara Rubin; children, Wendy Rubin-Fitzgerald, Lisa Rubin and Bill Rubin; grandchildren, Casey Fitzgerald, Hollis, Morgan and Garrett Dvorkin and Alexandra and Pierce Rubin, and his sister, Eileen Glick and brother Frank Rubin. Family and friends will honor Lon‘s life at a memorial service held at Congregation Beit Tikvah, 5802 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21210 on Sunday, October 26 at 2 p.m. Shiva calls are welcome Sunday and Monday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. Mariv services at 7 p.m. at the home of Lisa and Michael Dvorkin, 2101 Sulgrave Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21209.
