LORIN STRIGEL Obituary


LORIN J. STRIGEL  
Loving husband and father, Lorin J. Strigel, 79, peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 28, in Haymarket, Virginia. Lorin was a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church. Active in his community, Lorin enjoyed singing with the Regency Chorale and playing pool with the Billiards Club. Fishing with his family, photography, and activities with his grandchildren, were all favorite pastimes for Lorin. Lorin is best remembered as a highly intelligent engineer, having earned a BA in Philosophy, a BS in Engineering, and an MSEE. He was proud to serve his country as a defense contractor for SAIC and Booz Allen Hamilton.  He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Strigel; his children, Laurie Strigel, David Strigel, and Karen Smith; grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucas, Maya, D.J. Strigel and Eowynn and Avery Smith; his brother, Jay Strigel; sisters Susan Stange and Mary Feldner. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, VA. There will be a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3 at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Middleburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
