LOUIS T. LEONSIS (Age 93)

Formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts died on Sunday September 23, 2007 at the Indian River Medical Center after a short illness. He was born November 28, 1913 in Lowell, Massachusetts the son of the late Theodore and Maria Leoutsakos.

Loving husband of the late Joanne (Koumantzelis) Leonsis. Mr. Leonsis was a graduate of Lowell High School. He worked for many years at Raytheon Company in Andover up until his retirement. He served in the Pacific Theatre in the Navy during World War II on the USS Bunker Hill up until his honorable discharge in 1945. Mr. Leonsis was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell.

He is survived by his loving son, Theodore "Ted" J. Leonsis and his wife, Lynn of McLean, Virginia and Vero Beach, FL; a brother, Stanley Lewis of Chelmsford; two grandchildren, Zachary Leonsis and Elle Leonsis of McLean, Virginia. Also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Polita Sakelakos, Mary Leoutsakos, and Stathis Leoutsakos. Friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Friday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home to be followed by services at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell at 10 a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Louis and Joanne Leonsis Memorial Fund c/o Holy Trinity Church, Lewis St Lowell, MA 01854.
