Louise T. Wadsworth
On November 25, 2023, Louise T. Wadsworth, 77, a long-time resident of Montgomery County, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home in Silver Spring.
Born in 1946 at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Louise never made any grade lower than an A while a student both at High School in Heidelberg, Germany and at the University of Maryland in Munich. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science in 1977. She worked as a computer programmer in the Air Force in the era of punch cards and magnetic tape and later as a programmer for a heating oil company based in Waldorf and as a technical writer and editor at the United States Pharmacopeia in Twinbrook. She married William in 1981 (she was his boss when they met) and their home in Rockville was the place for many memorable dinners for her family, many friends and acquaintances. She loved to cook and delight others with her amazing and inventive culinary creations. Spirited conversations and sharing of ideas were common in the house though sometimes her Irish and Norwegian heritage would come to the fore and the bagpipe music would start blaring from the stereo. Always at home in foreign lands, she traveled to many places around the world and once was almost interviewed by a French television station in Paris who thought she was a local because of the baguette under her arm and string bag full of fromage and jambon. A woman of deep faith, with a caring heart and sparkling wit, Louise is survived by her husband, William F. Wadsworth, III, her son Father William F. Wadsworth, IV, her brother Maxwell Torgersen, and her step-sister Karen Tewell. Viewing will be at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church, 9000 Warfield Rd., Gaithersburg, MD 20882 on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated there the same day at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church Renovation Fund (15848 Rock Point Road Newburg, MD 20664).
