MARGIE LUKE Obituary

Margie Grady Luke
Margie Luke died at her home in Fairfax at the age of seventy seven on September 6, 2017. Mary Margaret Grady was born in Philadelphia. She moved with her family to Annapolis and worked in Washington as a legal secretary and an advertising account manager. She attended University of Maryland and graduated from George Mason University in 1985. In 1992 she earned her Master's degree from University of Southern Mississippi. She taught art at St. Leo Elementary School, St. Mary's Academy and Bishop O'Connell High School. Margie was a collector of people and made friends everywhere she went. She loved entertaining and served food from many different cultures, but her absolute favorite was Mexican. Margie loved life and her wit and wisdom brought smiles to everyone she met. She was a big fan of the Maryland Terrapins and followed her beloved Redskins religiously, even trying to coach from her seat in the living room. She is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Monica (Chris) and Graham (Cindy); grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Casey, Aaron, and Brendan; her siblings, Kate (Doug), Monica, and John; and nieces, Germaine and Jennifer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, on Wednesday, October 4 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Aunt Margie (as my kids called her) will always be in my heart. From belly dancing lessons to birthday parties to playing bridge(more talking than playing),and the paintings on our wall, she will never be forgotten
