On Monday, January 8, 2007, MARIE VELA JEAN-PHILIPPE, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of Elie Jean-Philippe, Sr.; mother of Elie Jr., Patrick and Alain Jean-Philippe and Nathalie Johnson; grandmother of Elodie, Coralie and Sebastien Jean-Philippe; sister of Soeurette, Larrieux, Vilaire and Maxwell Cyprien. Relatives and friends may call at COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, 500 University Blvd., West, Silver Spring, MD, Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at Georgia Baptist Church, 15525 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, January 13, at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Since I learned of Tati Vela's passing, I find myself thinking of Ari and the family and how much we will all miss her and specially the sunday dinners. I join you and the many others who will miss her, but I remain grateful for having known her.

I know you're not with us physically, but the Sunday dinners will be missed when we are in Haiti.
