I'm proud to say Marisol was my friend. Even prouder to say that I served with her in Iraq. Although she was in a different unit, me and my Battle Buddies kind of adopted her as part of our group. I remember when she first arrived at our FOB...She had guard duty at the chow hall and we asked her how old she was.....she just seemed too young to be a soldier. But a soldier she was. And it wasn't long before she earned not only our respect, but our friendship. Although FOB Union III didn't have much, it did have a little Iraqi run Coffe Shop where we got to know this wonderful young soldier. She was like a little sister to us. Still can't believe she's gone. I think of her often. May God bless her, her family, and all those who loved her.

You are remembered and respected. Thank you Spc Heredia!

I cannot say more than sorry. I miss Marisol very much even though our lives crossed for only a few moments. I cared for her in the first few minutes after her injuries. On behalf of SSG Scott Teakell, Dr. Johnson Isaac, and all of my medical platoon, I wish her peace, and peace to be with you as well.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Spc Heredia. I was one of many people who cared for her after her injuries. She was a true fighter. Sadly, her injuries were simply too many. All of us who cared for Spc Heredia were, and always will be, honored and humbled by her strength. May God bless and protect her.

My prays are with you. I know how it feels to lose her. She always made me laugh we kept each up when nobody else was around. I went to basic training with her and ait and later met up with her at fort hood. She was so looking forward to meeting my baby when she got back. I'm going to miss her dearly. Her smiles her funnies about everything. She always put a smile on my face when I was down back in basic. I loved her we always told each other that. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MUCH MARISOL.

I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To her family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss her, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by her presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.

To the family of Marisol Heredia: I am truely sorry for what the outcome of her injuries were. Every time she passed me she always had a smile on her face and she was just a very happy person, no matter what she would always say some thing to bring a smile to your face. This is very hard for me as I am one of the medics who was on site to treat her injuries and I truly wish that there was more that we could have done for her. Your family will always be in my prayers, God bless you all.

I first meet her in BCT in Ft. Jackson, SC and knew her till out last days of AIT in Ft. Lee. Wow...was she someone special. She always had a smile and something funny to say and unfortunately, shes no longer with us. Im currently in Balad,Iraq and I recieved the word from friends that knew her from BCT and AIT aswell. I didnt want to believe what I heard untill I searched it myself, and even know, with tears in my eyes, I cant believe it.

We all know now that shes in a better place and that she will never be forgotten.

To her family, I pray for your hearts and hers. Keep your heads up because I know she wants it that way.

HI, I am a very good friend of Martha and Shane took us to New Orleans for the cruise that we took the end of Jan. Martha has keep her friends in touch with Marisol's progress. My heart goes out to you, her family, as you go through lossing her. Words can't express your feeling of intense of hurt and there is no explanation for why it should have happened to this young life. Maybe someday for those that believe that there is another level of life, there will be an understanding for you of why this has happened.

I am saddened by the death of Ms. Heredia. I appreciate her service to this country. I can't imagine the pain her absence will cause to people I don't even know.

I got the news from Martha Hargett, a friend of Claudia and Shane's. I am SO VERY SORRY for the loss of your beautiful and brave daughter.

Marisol is a hero to me. She has made the ultimate sacrifice while in service to her country and I, one among many, will be forever grateful. My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to her family and friends.

I heard about SPC Marisol Heredia through a friend of mine and sent a card in hopes of offering some cheer in her time of pain and suffering. I know first hand the pain of losing a child and my heart goes out to Maisol's parents and family. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I sent a letter to her hoping to ease the pain and suffering she was going thru. I wish I could have made the trip to BAMC but I would not have been allowed to visit.
No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences and prayers are with you as you grieve.

To the parents of Marisol, it's so very hard to loose you child and you have so very many questions that seem can never be answered. I know this personally as I too am a Gold Star Mother. God has given me the strength to reach out and help with emotional comfort when and if you ever want to talk, vent, cry or just share memories. I have just learned of the death of Specialist Marisol Heredia. As the State Chaplain of the Georgia Sons Of The American Revolution, I speak for our President, Charlie A. Newcomer, III and more than 1,400 SAR members around the State of Georgia in humbly expressing the condolences of a grateful Society. Wrapped in the integrity of service to our nation and the inestimable values of duty, honor and country, your American hero stood on a wall of freedom for us all. His life and his love of country epitomized every attribute of patriotism the Sons Of The American Revolution hold dear. And, as Americans, we could never repay the debt we owe him ..!! I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
