MARK ANDREW GAVAN
Mark Andrew Gavan, 54, longtime resident of Hampton, Norfolk and Fairfax, VA passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014. He was an employee of the State of Virginia for 17 years while proudly serving our country in logistics and support at Langley Air Force Base and Norfolk Naval Base. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary F. Gavan of Williamsburg, VA. He is survived by his father, William T. Gavan of Williamsburg, VA; sister, Kathleen D. Gavan of Alexandria, VA; brothers, Thomas C. Gavan of Edgewater, MD, Lawrence J. Gavan of Richmond, VA, James P. Gavan of Leesburg, VA and Gregory D. Gavan of Hartwood, VA. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 16 at 11 a.m. in Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA. Online condolences may be made at www.nelsenrichmond.com .

I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I have fond memories of Mark and the Gavan family and will definitely pay my respects at the memorial park.

I just heard about Mark's passing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have fond memories of our neighborhood where we grew up and the relationships and friendships that were forged. I wish I could be there in person to share in your grief.
