Mark was a great volunteer with me and my class at Bancroft Elementary School in Washington, DC. I am just now learning that he passed. I had been trying to get in touch with him. May he rest in peace.

Mark was a gentle and kind soul. He enjoyed showing off a special collection of momentos at his apartment including pictures with presidents and his numerous awards. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and especially his loving sister Judith who supported Mark throughout his life.

I met Mark when my family moved into the house directly across the street from his; we were both 6 years old. He and our friend Marty and I spent many hours playing together. It's so heartwarming to read what he made of his life. My thoughts go out to Judith - it's been so many years since we've seen each other.
