MARK VAN BERGH Obituary


Mark Van Bergh  
Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022 with his wife by his side. Born on November 28, 1956, to Elinor and the late Peter Van Bergh he grew up in White Plains, NY, and graduated Syracuse University and the George Washington University School of Law. Mark was a communications lawyer in Washington, DC and a professional photographer. He was an avid world traveler and his passion for wildlife and travel photography live on through his images. He is deeply missed. Mark is survived by his wife Lisa Russell; stepdaughters Sydney and Isabella Darko; mother Elinor Kopmar; brother Jim (Agnieszka) Van Bergh; stepbrother Paul Kopmar; stepsisters Rona and Allison Kopmar; nephew and nieces, Jacob, Sarah, Nina and Dalia. No services at this time but a celebration of Mark's life is planned for later this year. A scholarship has been established in Mark's name through the Federal Communications Bar Association Foundation and donations may be sent to: FCBA Foundation, c/o Mark Van Bergh Scholarship, 1020 19th St, NW, Suite 325, Washington, DC 20036.
