Mary Kenefick Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (Mary Beth) Kenefick died February 20, 2025 at Regency Park Memory Care Center in Gambrills, MD. She was 77. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Greg Kenefick; son Patrick Kenefick (Marnie), daughters Lisa Anne Gebbia (Tony), and Tara Janine Landis (Bob), all of Annapolis, and seven grandchildren. The family initially lived in Montgomery County, moving to Annapolis in 1986. Mary Beth was born, September 7, 1947, to Helen Payne Richardson and Dr. Francis Xavier Richardson, in Washington, DC. She was the last surviving sibling of five Richardson children, predeceased by her sister, Patricia Anne Wiggins, and brothers Francis Xavier "Buddy" Richardson, James Michael Richardson, and Gerald Thomas Richardson. Mary Beth attended St. Michael's Catholic School in Silver Spring, through Grade 8. After graduation from Einstein HS in Kensington in 1965, Mary Beth earned her BA Degree from the University of Maryland in 1981. At age 40, Mary Beth accepted an internship at the GSA. The federal career that followed took her into assignments in several locations with the Department of Commerce and the National Weather Service until her retirement in 2010.
