I was stunned and saddened to hear of Johnnie's sudden death. I will always remember her for her musical talents. She certainly influenced my taste in music. We listened to her album last night...I'm quite sure is singing with an amazing choir now! My deepest sympathy to her family

I have not seen Johnny since 9th grade at Seton. I remember her very well. She was one hell of a basketball player and so very funny. My sympathies to her family.

I was a freshman at ESHS when "Johnny" was a senior. I was in awe of her; her talent on the basketball court and off the court singing and playing her guitar. The thing I remember most about her was how kind she was to a "geeky" freshman. I was lucky enough to have Maureen sing at my wedding 23 years ago and have a photo of her Irish dancing at my reception. I am sure she is singing lead vocals with the Lord's angels. God Bless you Maureen and your family.

Those of us who were lucky enough to share our high school years at Seton with Johnnie will never forget her. When I think of her, I think of music and the pleasure she brought so many over the years with her music and sense of humor. When I heard of her untimely passing, the first words that came to mind were from an old Bob Dylan song,

I am so sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. She was such a jewel -- always so upbeat and funny. She brought joy to everyone she met. I was her classmate at Seton and am glad to have counted her as a good friend. Donna (McCarthy) Lord

Sincere sympathy to Johnnies family.

So young to lose such a kind soul. I remember her best in her being one heck of a gun - shooting baskets on the floor. When she was on she was something else!! I remember her playing guitar and singing so often at game parties. I will remember her beautiful smile and hope she rests in peace.

It was quite shocking to hear the news of Maureen's (Johnnie's) death. I went to school with her from first grade at St. Bernard's all the way through our graduation from Seton. I still remember her dancing the Irish dances on St. Patrick's day and her beautiful singing. I have fond memories of playing basketball with her at St. B's and cheering her on at Seton. My prayers are with her family in this sad time.

I will always keep wonderful memories of Maureen (Johnnie) from our high school days. She was a wonderful friend in high school taking time to talk to me. Her talents were amazing on the basketball court and her music will stay with me always. My heart is truly saddened and my prayers are with the Johnson family on her passing.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My memories of Maureen (Johnnie) at Seton (Class of '72) are many. While she may have ruled the basketball court, she was also a friend to all. I'm glad she joined us at several reunions over the years. May she rest in peace!

Although our lives separated too many years ago, Maureen remains part of some of the most cherished memories of my youth--especially a wonderful, long trip to Ireland, Switzerland, and France. The years of our friendship were filled with Maureen's music, which I will always carry with me. Rest in peace, Maureen.

how blessed we are to be part of the ESHS family ... and how sad to lose one of our own. Remembering several of our last reunions of the Class of '72, Johnnie's smile was just as radiant, ever as loving and kind, and always compassionate and happy. I am sad to have not seen her in the recent past, but will always hold her memory dear as all of my memories of Elizabeth Seton High School and my lifelong loved ones. Blessings to Johnnie's family and friends.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
