MAURICE WILLIAM KIRBY, JR., age 79 passed away on March 28, 2013 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, VA. He was born on July 7, 1933 in Massachusetts to the late Maurice William Kirby, Sr. and Marion Gertrude (Lynch) Kirby. Maurice was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville, VA and a 4th degree Knight Council #12982 in Bristow, VA. Mr. Kirby had a long career in the computer industry retiring from Xerox. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Pauline June Kirby of Gainesville, VA; five children, Elizabeth Kerrigan and husband, Kenneth of Fairfax, VA, Kathleen Kirby of Nashua, NH, Patricia Rossi and husband, Robert of Sparta NJ, Maurice William Kirby III and wife, Leisu of Hudson, MA and Thomas Patrick Kirby of Laconia, NH; one sister, Diane Hoffman of Canton, GA; and five grandchildren, Kenny and Sean Kerrigan, both of Fairfax, VA, Katherine Rossi of Sparta, NJ, Maurice William Kirby IV and Devin Kirby, both of Hudson, MA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, VA. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA.
