The Late Doctor Michael A. Armstrong and I enjoyed playing one another in the athletic game of tennis. I would frequent the home tennis courts he would play on in the Potomac, MD community, and oftentimes, he would visit my Camp Springs, MD tennis community for the camaraderie. We had several fantastic tennis matches between one another. We loved tennis so much that we would see one another in the stands when the Professional Tennis Players would come to Washington, D.C. to play the Legg Mason Tennis Tournament. I miss you my friend.

As a neighbor, I only got to know Michael briefly but saw him as a kind, gentle soul. My prayers are with his son, of whom he often spoke with great love, and his entire circle of family and friends. Washington House, Newark, DE

RIP, sir!
I didn't really know you well, but I remember when I was fresh off the boat(S.A.), you took me to a Tennis game...I didn't know much about tennis but I had a great time.
May you soul test in peace!

I had the honor of working with him perhaps for just a few months, but you could tell what a great person and dedicated provider he was.
Sir, may you be in peace, and may your family be graced by God's comfort.

Dr. Armstrong was the Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service when I was selected for my first supervisor assignment. I remember being so afraid of being asked a question that I wouldn't know the answer to. One day while talking with him in his office, a physician entered and asked him a medical question. I remember Dr. Armstrong saying "Let me reference my text book, I'll get back with you shortly". It was at that moment that I realized that you don't have to know or remember "everything" to be a great leader in the medical community...just know WHERE or HOW to find the answer. Thank you, COL Armstrong, for teaching me that valuable lesson - it allowed me to "learn" far more than I could have ever "remembered". RIP Sir - I'll remember your wonderful smile (and your shoes).

I was working at Dewitt Army hospital when Dr. Armstrong was the pathologist there. The thing that I remember about him most was his generous spirit. I am certain that his presence here will be greatly missed.

What a guy! Cousin, you were one of a kind! This year's family reunion won't be the same without you .... but we take solace in knowing that you lived a really great life and we are grateful you devoted so much time researching your Armstrong ancestral ties. I am sure that shortly after you arrived at The Big Gate, you looked for the Garlingtons we never were able to find.
Farewell. Rest in peace.
