Mary and Phil, I am so sorry to hear and for the late condolences
November 29, 2012
I served with Mike as a Corpsman in the second Marine Division. I always thought he was very talented diagnostician and a heck of a good guy. After all these years, I attempted to reach out to him on Facebook, but found this link instead. I'm very sorry for his family's and friends' loss, and am greatly saddened that I didn't renew our acquaintance sooner...
God Bless You, Mike!!

Mike was the most patient insightful but always quiet man I have ever worked with. I worded with him on the Evaluation Unit at JLG-RICA and then when he was night nurse. I will always remember his keen insight and clinical knowledge. I know that both is faimily here at RICA and his wife and son have lost a great guiding light.

Mike was my supervisor at JLG-RICA. He treated his staff with respect and compassion and always made it a point to say how much he valued and appreciated us-even on those occasions when there wasn't a lot to value or appreciate. He loved sharing stories about his family and it was obvious how much they meant to him. Mike took great pride in his work and looked at his clients as more than just their symptoms or diagnoses. We will miss him very much for his ability as a supervisor but even more for his quality as a person.

I am so saddened by this news. I worked with Mike at Chestnut Lodge and learned so much from him! He was so passionate about the work we do and loved being a psychiatric nurse. Mike adored his wife and spoke endlessly about his son, he was so proud. I was honored when Mike asked me to attend the burial service at Arlington Cemetery for his father. He was proud of his father and proud of the time both he and his father spent in the military. My sincere condolences go out to his family. Rest in peace Mike... I will never forget all you taught me! Thank you!!

On Saturday, we lost an exceptional nurse, colleague, and friend.
Michael was known for his professionalism, leadership skills, and love for his family, friends, and students in his care. He was a good listener and always encouraged others with his positive spirit.
It was a privilege to have worked with such a very special gentleman for the past six years. He made many meaningful contributions to the lives of the students he cared for and his co-workers.
I would like to express the great sorrow and sympathy that is felt by all of us at JLG –RICA to his wife Mary, their son Phillip, and his family. We will miss him.

I worked with Michael for 5 years many years ago at PIMC. We laughed and cried many times together but my favorite memories of him are of him playing his harmonica while I sang...We had that liked-minded musical thing between us and I will never forget him. May you rest in peace Michael, my friend.

I worked with Mike at PIMC back in the late 80's. I did not know him well enough and from what I hear from my previous co workers at PIMC, he was a good man. He was with us when we opened that facility in the early 80's and will always be a part of the legacy there. My thoughts and prayers with the fiancé, family and friends.

I worked with Mike several years back at RICA. I remember great conversations about his family, his bike, and football...over nice cups of his fresh brewed coffee. He was caring and supportive; down to earth and an all around exceptional person. My prayers are with his family and loved ones. May God bless you all with strength during this difficult time.

There are no words. Michael and I were best buddies in our work environments for years. We knew about each others families since we and our children were young. The sadness I fell cannot be described. We worked together at PIMC and he was instrumental in helping with my employment at Chestnut Lodge Hospital in the Adolescent Division. We had long talks every day. The last time I saw him in person was at Dr. Wayne Fenton's memorial service. But we always had each others numbers so that we could stay in touch when needed. Such a bond we had. Mary I am so sad for you because I do know he always loved you. Phillip just know your dad will always be with you. He was so proud of you and your success. He bragged on you all the time. I was also privileged to be asked to his father's funeral at Arlington. God Bless Michael. He was loved and helped many souls during his career.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I knew him while working as a new social worker at the adolescent unit at Chestnut Lodge in 1990-91. He was truly a wonderful colleague, smart, kind, funny, and so caring about the kids there. The most supportive nurse I have ever worked with. My heart goes out to Mary and Phil. He used to speak about both of you with such pride and love.

I knew Mike for almost 20 years, having worked with him at cpc/the lodge and R.I.C.A. He made a difference in the lives of so many kids. He was a wonderful and caring man. We shared the love of the blues and great harmonica. I will miss him forever, and my heart goes out to his family.

We are all so-o sad to learn of Michael's passing and that he was so young as well. Mike was always such a dedicated and caring individual in not only leading his fellow workers on the night shift here at JLG-RICA...but he truly and sincerely cared deeply for the well being of all of our children that he served at our facility. He will be deeply missed by so many and our hearts go out to his dear family for their loss.

When exceptional people come along, they will not be forgotten. Working with Mike I really got to know how passionate he was about the things in life. From the way he delighted over riding his motorcycle to work, grinding that first cup of coffee, wearing his Ravens jersey with pride and bragging about his wife's delicious rum cake.
I am honored to have worked with Mike, and my thoughts and prayers are with the family and all that are close.
