MICHAEL LEVOCK

Michael Paul Levock, Jr.  
Of Falls Church, VA passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the age of 76. He is survived by his children, Sonya and Aleksey, and his brother, John. Michael grew up largely in Orient, PA, leaving for the DC area to attend college, the first in his family to do so. After earning a BA and MA at University of Maryland College Park, he had a long career in government service, working on Capitol Hill and the IRS, where he made some enduring friendships. For many years he also enjoyed the relationships he built in real estate sales and his used book business.Michael loved literature, sci-fi, and history, crosswords puzzles, classic movies, and cooking in the house he worked so hard for. More than anything, he took enormous joy in being a parent and considered the adults his son and daughter became his greatest achievement. A humanist and anarchist throughout his adult life, Michael never had much use for God, but never stopped believing in the innate good of his fellow man. Those around him couldn't help but be struck by his generosity towards family, friends, and perhaps most tellingly, complete strangers. An unwavering optimist, there was never a tomorrow that didn't look brighter. A private service will be held later in the year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society.
