Somehow, we made it through Christmas without you. Missed your LOUD voice, your enthusiasm, and you picking on me all day long while I cooked.

Your stocking is hung on the mantle, empty, but will be there every Christmas for as long as I live.

Love you and miss you forever,

Mom

Well, this was the first big holiday without you sweetie, and it was hard. We ate a ton of food and laughed, but you were never out of our thoughts. There were just four of us, but I got a 25 pound turkey, because I know you hated small turkeys..."that's not a turkey, that's a chicken!" I left a couple of things off the menu, because you were the only one that ate them...pumpkin pie and jellied cranberry sauce. And you had to have the cranberry sauce sliced...it used to kill me to put that on the table, but whatever you wanted to have, we had.

I could have never imagined that to visit you on Thanksgiving, I would have to go to a cemetery.

Life will go on, we'll go on, but it will never be as bright, or as joyful or as full as it was when you were here with us.

Love you and miss you forever,

Mom

A few memories from our time at St. Rita's came back to me the other day and I couldn't help but smile, knowing that you're still here in spirit. I wish it didn't have to be this way, but I know that you are at peace now.

September 24, 2015

Sweet Michael, I was with Mrs. Cunningham, Mrs. Manaker & Mrs. McGraw today, as we journeyed into DC to see the Holy Father...we call carried yours and Randy's prayer cards, and we prayed the Holy Rosary twice, as well as the Divine Mercy Chaplet, for the two of you. When we received the Papal blessing, you and Randy received it as well, as both of you were there with us in spirit.

You continue to be so loved, and so missed, and so many people are praying for you.

Love to you always, until I see your sweet face again,

Mom

Ten weeks in, and this past Friday, the ten week anniversary of you leaving us, is the first day I didn't cry. It was only one day, but step in the right direction. I miss you, and long to see your face and hear your voice as much as I did that first horrible day, but I'm learning to live with that pain, knowing that in return, you are finally at peace.

Love to you always,
Mom

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Taylor and Jessica,

I just found out; I am heartsick though I know God is with you and Michael. I can only imagine how much he grew up after I taught him freshman year, but I will always remember a boy who was incredibly likeable and who pulled at my heartstrings. He was so very special with his boundless good will and ready smile.

Thinking of you prayerfully,
