MICHAEL ZAK Obituary
MICHAEL S. ZAK
Michael S. Zak, beloved husband of Luz Zak, died on December 15, 2013 at Virginia Hospital Center, in Arlington. He spent his life serving as a Foreign Service Officer, first in Nigeria, Africa, then in Northern Latin American countries, such as Panama and Santo Domingo. Next he served in Ghana and Burkina Faso. Lastly, he was assigned to work on the seven confederate states of Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Ljubljana, and Montenegro during the Bosnian War. Michael was humble, dedicated to his work, but most importantly he was a great husband. He is survived by his wife, and sister, Varda Negnewitzky. A memorial service will be held at a later date. I'm Luz's niece and I want to thank you for all you kind thoughts and sharing your memories of Uncle Mike. I will make sure my Auntie Luz gets the messages (as she's unable to go online).

I always looked forward to the times Mike called our office. We had a good repartee' and I will miss that interaction. My condolences to his family and friends.

To Luz and families,
WE knew Mike a very long time because he was a great old friend of Bill Pollack's.
I placed Mike's secretary a long time ago who worked for Mike in the state dept. Mike knew some people we knew-Ron G and Mike's neighbors the Whites. Everyone liked Mike and he was helpful to everyone.
We extend our sympathy to Luz and Luz's and Mike's families.
