I met Pat through G-Prep. Jason and Tommy were on the same rugby team. Pat was so enthusiastic, warm and friendly; and I'm so lucky to have met him. I'm am so sorry for your enormous loss. Hoya Saxa.

Like Alex, I played hoops with Pat for decades. Starting at Hardy School, I fondly recall his young kids on the front yard of their home on Q Street - Pat would run back and forth between games to be with them. With an easy, hearty laugh and a clear sense of perspective, Pat played big on the court - and I guarantee he did in every facet of his rich life. While I had not seen him in several years (my hoops ended about 8 years ago), i will always recall Pat fondly - and he will be missed greatly.

To the Colliton Family; After 60+ years I have finally heard word of the Colliton's and I am sorry the news had to be brought through this vehicle. Back in the mid 1950's the Colliton's lived in Forest Heights, MD. The community had recently been built and may families, with young children, came to live there. The Colliton family lived just part way down the hill and had 3 children that I remember Sherry, Mike and Pat. Pat was the one that I remember always had a smile on his face. Like me, he was a bit of a rollie-pollie kid that nothing seemed to bother him. Shortly after 1955 or 6 the family moved and I had always wondered how they were. I am confident that Pat has been welcomed by our Father to his reward in heaven and is sitting with his aunt, who lived just down the street in Forest Heights too. There is sadness yes, but the time is also for celebration, for the life he lived and the people that knew and loved him. I wish I could have known him more but reading about him, I am sure, he was a great man. Rest in Peace my friend, your life was well lived.

I will never forget Pat's smile or his enthusiastic support for the youth basketball program in McLean. Pat always had a positive word of support for all the players he interacted with, both as a Coach and more recently as a referee. I will always remember watching a game with Pat as referee and hearing that booming boisterours voice filling the gym. Pat you will be deeply missed and impossible to replace.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there . . I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow . . .
I am the diamond glints on snow . . .
I am the sunlight on ripened grain . . .
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the mornig's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight . . .
I am the sof star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry -
I am not there . . . I did not die.
Goodnight my friend.

I met Pat on a basketball court shortly after moving to DC, and for the next 25 years saw him at least once or twice a week. When we first started playing we were a group of maybe 25 guys. We all rented out gyms together or played outside when the weather was good. One by one, the 25 got whittled down. We'd find replacements but after 20 years only 5-6 of the originals still played. Pat was one of them. What he lacked in height he more than made up for in strength, effort, and..... shooting. Pat had a few different shots he knock down automatically. And if your team lost and you were shooting free throws to see who played next, you did not want to get into a free throw shooting contest with him. He was money when it counted most, on and off the court. He will be missed.

What a smile, what a laugh, what a man, son, brother, friend and especially father.
Thinking of you fondly Pat Colliton this morning and reflecting warmly of our friendship mostly from years past shared behind dusty Georgetown bars.
It was fun for that moment to live like Stars. Now that you're up in the stars, please pray we too join you in Heaven where we toast you now
Love you man!
Ps - Thanks for all those birthday phone calls. You are awesome!
