PATRICK T. DEMPSEY
The members of the DC Fire Fighters Association, Local 36 and the Retired Firefighters of Washington regret to announce the death of retired Brother PATRICK T. DEMPSEY on Monday, August 7, 2017. Brother DEMPSEY was appointed to the Department on April 28, 1968 and retired on April 21, 1983 as a Captain at Truck 13. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Burbage Funeral Home, 108 William St., Berlin, MD.

I remember Pat as a gifted athlete and a funny and close friend. He was a standout basketball player. I played infield when he was at shortstop for the Clippers and we enjoyed lots of good times and lots of laughs. He served his country and his community well and I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Pat was a super athlete and a man with a great sense of humor. We were team mates in 1962 and 1963. I had a great week with him at Duke University at a summer basketball camp. It was the high light of my days as a basketball player at Oxon Hill. I will always treasure our time together when we were young and it was all before us.
