My family and I would like to offer our sympathy to Carol and the family of Senator Paul Laxalt. I first met Governor Laxalt when Kenny Guinn and I visited him as Governor in 1970. The purpose of the visit was to update him on our progress in the Clark County School System. Since that time I have admired him for his sincerity and supportive disposition for education in the State of Nevada and for his support when I replaced Kenny Guinn as Superintendent of Schools in Clark County in 1978. My wife and I were very thankful to be able to attend the beautiful memorial service in Washington, DC. Thank you Senator Laxalt as your character, leadership , integrity and presence will be missed for years to come. Claude G. Perkins, Ph.D.- President Emeritus, Virginia Union University.

Senator Laxalt was principled, kind, courteous, and respectful of others. He was the original "compassionate Conservative." One of the "thousand points of light" has been dimmed.
Condolences to his family.

Mrs. Laxalt- I wasn't able to speak to you today at the Senator's Memorial Service. I want to offer you my deepest condolences, and compliment you on the very touching and beautiful service. It was heartwarming to pay tribute to a great man who had such an impact on many lives, including mine, and to reconnect with so many dear friends. I hope you can relax and get some well deserved rest. Love, David

Our sincerest condolences to Carol and the entire Laxalt family on the passing of Senator Paul Laxalt. Whether in the elegant Sierra Nevada Mountains at a Basque Sheepherder camp for a respite from the rigors of Washington DC, or in the Governor's Mansion or the Senate in Washington DC, Senator Paul Laxalt always had a smile, kind words and excellent advice for all who visited and sought his wisdom. The entire family of Bill and Peggy Sinnott mourns Senator Laxalt's passing. Yet we know he is with great company up in Heaven where he will continue to look over and support each of us with our own special memories.

Quinn & Jude Sinnott and the entire Sinnott Family.

My deepest condolences to the Senator's family and loved ones. It was an honor to work for him as counsel to the Reagan for President Committee which he chaired. He was wise and kind and a great leader.

The Senator was my hero and my mentor from my early days in college at UNR.

And he introduced me to the world of politics as we worked tirelessly to elect him Governor in 1966 and later to the US Senate in 1974.

He had all the great qualities you love to see in an elected leader. And along the way, he never lost his sense of humor or his deep commitment to propriety and decorum that made him best friends with President Reagan and all his colleagues in the United States Senate who voted him the most popular and best liked among. them.

We will all miss Paul Laxalt and that infectious laugh , his sincerity, and that penetrating look as he listened to what you had to say , and so very much more.

I loved him like a father. And he loved me back like a son. And for that I will forever be indebted and just proud to have been part of his extended family.

Shakespeare said of Mark Anthony that the elements so mixed in him that nature might stand up and say to all the world.....here was a man !

That sums up our good friend and my hero, Paul Laxalt.

Paul Laxalt was a friend. Those of us who worked with him in the 3 campaigns for President Reagan respected his leadership.
