Peter Robertson Edelen

Peter Edelen Obituary

On July 7, 2025, Peter Robertson Edelen, beloved son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, passed away in Washington, DC. He was 83 years old. Born in Baltimore, MD, to Frances Abell (nee Fenwick) and John Walbach Edelen, Jr., Peter was the second of six children. A graduate of Georgetown Preparatory School, he later matriculated at Catholic University of America, where he studied English literature and philosophy. From that point on, he resided in Washington, DC. Intelligent and kind, Peter was a delightful conversationalist with a wonderful sense of humor. He was extremely well read and had a memory that never ceased to amaze people. Always upbeat and positive, even in the face of illness, he loved to talk about the future and what he was going to do next year. Peter is survived by his loving siblings, John W. Edelen, III (Lockette), David DeB. Edelen, Gay E. Dicus, William B. Edelen II (Brigid), and Stephen F. Edelen (Gail); and many nieces and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a lovely person who will be dearly missed by all. No services held.
