Pete was a special part of our years at Carroll. He will always be remembered fondly by those of us who had the privilege of playing with him. Sorry that I did not hear about his passing until after the funeral. My best to all of his family members.

I can tell you that the world lost a loving, kind & thoughtful man just as everyone else already knows. A devoted grandfather, a proud Dad, a loving husband, a caring sibling and thoughtful uncle and surrogate father to many. It's the little things that his family and friends will miss that touched each one individually in some way.
For me I'll miss our "good morning, how are you" to get me motivated. My daily list on a yellow pad that always started with "1. Have a good day (and a smiley face)". Our conversations on who we liked on American Idol and who would win (every season without fail, we we're die hard fans). It was the excitement of a new card he had gotten for his collection as he eagerly awaited my smile (he loved his cards and being able to make you smile). I'll miss his ring tone on my phone (the lazy boss song), it always made him laugh. I could go on and on but you get the idea. He touched everyone's life that he came in contact with. Today and forever I miss you my friend, my 2nd dad, your gracious heart and above all the smile that could light up a room. Your belly laugh was infectious.
To the family I simply say I love you all. You know how much he loved you and how much joy you brought to him. "The Dad", as he always wrote on his cards, is forever alive in our hearts.

So very sorry to learn of Pete's passing. Our families have been neighbors from the early days back on University Blvd. and the loss of a Godbout has always been like losing one of our own. My sympathies to all of the family on this great loss. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our own passings resulted in the deluge of wonderful attributes being showered on Pete. What a lovely father and brother and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with him and with you all. Fondly ~

Pat and Family, knowing Pete since he was just a young man I can say without a doubt, he was one of the finest men I have ever known. He was loving and kind and a wonderful husband, father, and friend to all. I am sending love to all of you. He will be so missed, he was everyone's rock. I feel privileged to have known and loved him. Saying sorry isn't enough. The journey begins for all of you, but along the way you will find peace, never will you or should you forget. He left so many memories, hold them near to your heart forever.
You RIP Pete.

I so very sorry to hear that Uncle Pete passed away. Always kind, always smiling, always laughing, and always interested more about me than talking about himself. A wonderful man, and a wonderful friend. I'm sure I'm not the first, and certainly not the last to say how dearly he'll be missed!
With love and many condolences,

Our deepest sympathies to all. Uncle Pete, we know you as our friend and hope to live as happily a life as you did, all the while gracing others with your always gentle presence. My own father loved this poem by Grantland Rice. It seems fitting to remember you as I read it. The last paragraph says, ""Keep coming back, and though the world may romp across your spine,
Let every game's end find you still upon the battling line;
For when the One Great Scorer comes to mark against your name,
He writes - not that you won or lost - but how you played the Game." A game well played Uncle Pete......very well played.
