PHILLIP JOHN GRAHAM February 3, 1986 – June 20, 2022

It is with deep sadness to share that Phillip J. Graham passed away on the evening of June 20, 2022, after suffering from illness. Phil passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Chicago on February 3, 1986, he grew up in Washington, DC. Phil's life was one filled with enthusiasm, for movies, art, history, comedy, satire, writing, ideas, and above all else, people. His quick wit, camaraderie, and kindness pervaded his every chapter. Phil attended Annunciation Catholic School and Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC. He was a consistent honor roll student and member of National Honor Society. While at Gonzaga, Phil developed life-long relationships with a terrific group of friends. He amused teammates while rowing crew, running cross country and playing rugby. He contributed to the Aquilian newspaper, rarely missing an opportunity to shed light on his friends' accolades in articles.

Phil traveled to the West Coast to pursue a degree in history and film at the University of Southern California (USC). He graduated in 2008, witnessing a USC football team with a record of 45-5 during his time there. Phil's love of film continued and he became the official movie buff of his circle for years to follow. He shared extensive details of movie history, film facts, and cinematic themes. Not one to shy away from his convictions, Phil also underscored mistakes or good choices made by various actors and directors. He would joke that IMDB and Wikipedia "put him out of business."

Phil brought his kind heart and engaging personality back to the DC area in 2017. He ultimately resided in Arlington, VA, where he was able to reconnect with family and old friends. Phil is survived by his parents Stephen X. and Jeralynn R. Graham, his brother Ian, and his sister-in-law Katie.

A celebration of Phil's life will be held on June 30, 2022 at Clyde's of Chevy Chase from 12 to 3 p.m.
