Dear Mrs. Philbin and family, I am most saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Philbin, whom I knew as a colleague and friend in the Washington Hospital Center's Department of Surgery. I came to work in the Department in 1989 under the late Dr. Bill Fouty and continued working with Dr. John Kirkpatrick throughout his tenure. Dr. Philbin was one of the first attendings that I was fortunate to meet. Our friendship lasted beyond his own retirement and into mine. My prayers are with each of you and I wish for you the found memories that I have of our beloved Phil Philbin.

Dear Jo and Family, we were so saddened to hear of Dr. Phil's passing. You know how much we looked forward to seeing him at The Adria each year. We will miss him so much -- and our fervent prayer is that you and your family know that he truly is in God's arms now. We love you and do hope to see you in Vero. God bless. Anita and Bill Bell

I am so privileged to have known this fine man when I was a student nurse & also to have worked with him during my yrs. as an RN. I will always remember him as a wonderful Doctor. He gave so much to his profession & all those who benefitted from his care. May his family find comfort @ this time in the memories of their life together.

It meant so much to me to be in MD to see all of you and to express my sympathy. There will always be a special place in my heart for Dr. Philbin and the Philbin family. May all the wonderful memories bring you comfort.
