Phyllis Twedt Obituary

Phyllis Jean (Silliman) Twedt, 91, of Springfield, Virginia passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 from complications of Alzheimer's. Born in York, ND, she is predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Lt. Col. Kermit (Ozzie) Twedt. She was the devoted mother of Jim Twedt, Cindy Brent, and Robin Green; and loving grandmother of Cameron and Erika Brent, and Brian and Danielle Green. Phyllis was a longtime member of Springfield Golf & Country Club, an avid golfer, a spirited Washington Redskins fan, an incredible baker and cook, a Life Master bridge player, and perfect at everything she did. She was a strong, intelligent, confident, beautiful, talented, love filled woman whose mission in life was to make everything better and give joy to everybody she knew. She was truly a woman before her time. The burial will be held at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Phyllis' name to the Alzheimer's Association.

In celebration of a life well lived. Phyllis lived a life with dignity, beauty and grace. Her radiant and captivating smile lit up the room. Her sense of humor and wit was delightful. She had a twinkle in her eye that reflected a mind of wisdom and warmth. "I´ Will Always Be Grateful to You" Mrs. Twedt. Heart felt condolences to Jimmy, Cindy and Robin. I will miss seeing MT on my drives thru the old neighborhood.
