Elliot when I think of my cousin Rachel. I think of that smile she had that lit up the whole room. She was outspoken and a lovely person to be around. I am saddened by this and will miss her dearly. May you and your family have everlasting memories of her.

I send my condolences to all her family. I knew Rachel in college--she was a few years behind me at St. John's College in the days when Jacob Klein was still teaching freshman seminars.

She was beautiful, funny, and utterly lovable.

I am so sorry.

We write to express our deepest sympathies to Elliott Abrams, his children and grandchild, and to the Podhoretz and Decter families. Rachel Abrams' untimely death is a terrible loss -- most of all --- to her family. It is a loss, as well, to all of us who greatly admired her mind, her writing, her wit and her spirit. Re-reading her Mothers Day post of a year ago, one cannot imagine a warmer, more loving, more life-giving or life-enhancing person than Rachel Abrams. May the fullness of her life be as a blessing to all who mourn her.
