Of Alexandria, VA, on April 16, 2002. Beloved husband of Jean Jefferies Kendrick; father of Lucie R. Smith of Alexandria and the late Ralph J. Kendrick. Also survived by one grandson, Louis C. Smith of Alexandria and one brother, Karl K. Kendrick of New Bern, NC. Friends may call at DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 520 S. Washington St, Alexandria, VA on Friday, April 19, 2002 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services private. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Immanuel Lutheran School, Alexandria, VA.

Lew aka Mr. Kendrick was a hardworking, good man who shared his life and home with extended family. He also instilled in me a work ethic at an early age, cleaning windows at their Glendale Ave home. I think I got 25c/window AND a fine lunch afterwards.
Lucie and I were childhood friends and I certainly wish the best for those who are left behind.
