My father-in-law, Dr. Ramzy Nassif accepted me into his family 25 years ago as one of his own daughters, sharing with me every opportunity for travel, education, culture & the arts. By so doing he broadened my mind & my heart & influenced me in the most positive ways. His kind & gentle nature, sense of humor & compassion for all people will be missed by each of us who knew him. I remember Ramzy commenting how a man was a "rich man" if he enjoyed a large family & was surrounded by the love of that family. My father-in-law preferred the humble pleasures in life, but was indeed a "very rich man". We, his family, will always love him.

With the loss of Dr. Ramzi Nassif, we lost another piece of "Ras Beirut". As a medical student, Dr. Nassif taught me how to perform a good ENT exam, and how to use the otoscope to avoid injury to the uncooperative child.
As a pediatrician, I knew him as a competent surgeon, an excellent teacher and a caring physician. He was kind and treated everyone with respect. He was a real gentleman.
I got to know Ramzi even better when he retired to the Washington, D.C. area. I witnessed his love to Widad, and his children and grand children. I witnessed his soft sense of humor, and his artistic talent and love to Lebanon through his soft oil paintings. I witnessed how he bravely fought his illness with Widad's love, selfless care and dedication.
May God rest his soul in peace, and bless you Widad and bless your family.

I just heard about the passing of Ramzi Nassif. I feel sad for the loss of such a wonderful man, but I feel grateful for having known him. Ramzi Nassif was an unforgettable teacher. He was knowledgeable but not pretentious, challenging but not overbearing. He did it all with an infectious smile. Rounds with him were always a pleasure and not a burden. Over the years that I got to know him, he became a dear friend as he introduced me to his charming family. I'll never forget the impromptu picture of his family that became a lovely poster. Ramzi also treated his patients with competence, caring and joviality.
I pray for the rest of his soul, and for the consolation of Widad and the rest of his family

"Dr. Nassif" touched and enriched my life in many different ways. I knew him growing up as Ammo Ramzy: a famous doctor and Sandy's (Alexander's) sweet, kind and wonderful dad. Later, when I went into practice at AUB, he became one of my role models as I got to know more about his talent as a skilled surgeon and as a caring physician. A few years later, I had the privilege of working with him in his office in Richlands, VA. I had just left Beirut under difficult circumstances. He willingly sponsored my family and me for a "Green card". Eventually, my family and I moved to California and later to NY. Yet, in our hearts, Nora, my wife, and I kept the fondest memories of and much appreciation and gratitude to Ramzy and Widad. Last year, I visited Ramzi at his home. I was amazed to see that, despite his illness, he had kept his jovial smile and his incredibly kind demeanor. Ramzy Nassif was great man. He raised a wonderful family, took care of people with compassion, kindness and generosity and made it all look so easy. Nora and I will miss him dearly.

Ramzy "Jiddo" Nassif was a loved husband, father and grandfather. He was always full of joy and wanted everyone to be happy. Though his body is no longer with us his spirit and soul is. I say that it is not the body that makes the person it is the heart and spirit that makes the person. He will always be with us and we will never forget him.
We Love You

Dr. Jiddo
My daughters grandfather. The kindest most gentle man i have ever known. I will never forget him. A few of my most precious memories.
1.Teaching my children to swim and calling him DEEDOO.
2. Showing me how to eat with my eyes closed.
3. Sleep sitting up while there are 5+ Children running around the house making noise.
4. "WIDAD" "WIDAD" get the dog out of the kitchen and away from the food.
Thank you for all you have done for me and my children. I will miss you very much.
Sleep well Jiddo.
