Jerry, I didn't know Richard personally but feel I do as I do your whole family from all the stories and photo's I read in your emails. Richard as well as all your siblings have succeeded exceptionally in life which I am glad to hear. More so, they all gave of themselves for our country. I have said a prayer for Richard. Brother Rich: You will never be forgotten. You were such an outstanding human being--loved and respected everyone, and set an example for many of us. You were, and are, loved by so many. We miss you but know you are with so many members of the Merna/Sedlack family praying for us who will be joining all of you in the future. Your Bro., Jerry.

The first time I met you, I knew that you were special, and had a special purspose in this life. Your bright smile, laughter that could charm a snake charmer, and the purest of hearts. You always told such cute jokes and riddles to us when we would speak on the phone. I rememeber you telling me how many people you helped each day when you would help out at the grocery store straightening out the canned goods. I have a wonderful picture in my head of whenyou were visiting last at Uncle Bobs in Moraga. Though we did not stay close, you were close in heart..Your loss to the family, andyour dear friends will leave us with a loss. Because you were of such pure heart, you have entered the house of the lord. A special place... for a special man.
God Bless..

When we were all children so many decades ago in St.Agnes, our ultimate hope was to go "HOME FOR GOOD". Both Richard & Roger have finally done that. Gone to a place where there is alway a gentle mother, a wise father, many siblings, a thousand times more than just 3 squares and a cot. Godspeed them on the journey and may they bless us on ours.

Although we never had the chance to meet face to face, we are brothers none the less. You are home, in God's hands, and we will meet when He allows me the priviledge. What the world has lost is Heaven's gain.

To our wonderful Brother, Rich
You lived such a wonderful life; God was always first with you, then came your family, and finally your service to our Country as a U.S. Marine. You certainly had your priorities right. We miss you already, and will love you forever.
