ROBERT DADE (Age 67)
ROBERT EDWARD "Big Bob" DADE, of Colonial Beach, VA, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006.
Born in Washington, DC, April 18, 1939, he was a former president of Asbestos Workers Local 124 and apprentice supervisor of Asbestos Workers with 31 years of service to the union and 15 years working with tools. He also was owner of Ed's Kitchen & Cabinet Shop for 16 years.
He was a member of Georgetown Big Brothers, Colonial Beach Sports Fisherman's Club, Moose Lodge 1267, Fratermal order of Eagles 4315 and the Elks Lodge.
He was the son of the late John Ball Dade Sr., and Genevieve Mullieaux-Dade, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Marie Johnson Dade. Survivors include his wife Kathy L. Dade; brother, John Ball Dade Jr., and his wife Dian; two sons, Donald D. Dade and Raymond R. Dade and his wife, Wendy; a daughter, Deborah M. Hobbs and her husband, Glynn; his grandchildren, Christine Hobbs, Devon Dade, Justine Hobbs, Wesley Hobbs and Dustin Dade; many other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at NASH & FUNERAL SLAW FUNERAL HOME, Colonial Beach, VA at 1 p.m. Friday November 3, 2006 with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. The Rev. Willard D. Bowen will officiate.
A reception will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday at American Legion Post 148 in Colonial Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, VA 22443.
