Robert Earl Pope
Robert (Bob) Earl Pope, 87, of Alexandria, VA, passed away on November 2, 2022. He is survived by his daughters, Carrie Longoria (Manuel) of Missouri City, TX; Lisa Pope (Justin Cohen) of Arlington, VA; and Laura Pope of Woodbridge, VA. He was predeceased by his wife Jean. Born in Atlanta, GA, and a graduate of Georgia State, Bob served in the Army before joining the Federal Government as an economist for the Labor Department, Cost of Living Council, and Postal Service. He and Jean were active members of Arlington's Glencarlyn neighborhood and Greenbrier Baptist Church. Visitation on November 11, 2022, 4 to 7 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22203. Funeral at 11 a.m. on November 12, 2022, at Greenbrier Baptist Church, 5401 7th Road South, Arlington, VA 22204. Interment following at National Memorial Park in Falls Church and then a reception at Murphy Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind and Boys Town.
