To the family of Roderick French,
Rod was a professor, graduate school mentor, and friend for nearly fifty years. He gave me the lead and recommendation for my first new job after graduate school. He was one of the most intelligent people I have ever known, and he always thoughtful and kind. I used to enjoy seeing him from time-to-time at the Cosmos Club, but have not been in touch for a couple of years. I am deeply saddened by his death. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
