Roland Magee Obituary

Roland "Jack" Magee, 80, passed away on July 17, 2024 in Arlington, vA. Born in Marblehead, Massachusettes, Jack was known for his humor, kindness, and charm. He "Never met a stranger".
Jack was actively involved in volunteering throughout his lifetime. As a young man, he was a member of the Williamsburg VA Fire and Rescue Squad and the Lion's Club. After moving to Manassas, VA, he joined the Manassas City Volunteer Fire Company. He was a member of SERVE and was elected to the Manassas City School Board..
As a child of a Coast Guard member, his family moved frequently, finally settling down in Yorktown, VA. Jack graduated from York High School, where he was a member of the football and track teams. He receieved his undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University and his master's degree from the College of William and Mary.
Jack began his career as a teacher in Newport News, Va. He later joined the Herff Jones Company where he worked for many years. In his later years, Jack returned to teaching.in Woodbridge VA, where he taught history and government and was a volunteer mentor to students.
He leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Robin Grant Weisman, two daughters, Leslie Magee Skinner (Todd), and Megan Magee Fritz(Alex), a son, Sean Jordan Magee, a grand-daughter, Pamela Sutton Fritz, and a step-son, Corey Stephen Weisman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 12, 2024 at the Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad (Hinton Hall).
