At Mackinac College I always enjoyed my meetings with Dr. Cornell. He was always truly interested in the concerns I brought when President of Women students. Our first meeting was nearly 60 years ago but the warm regard remains

As a student at Mackinac College, I learned of his affection for the work of Agatha Christie. That engendered my enduring enjoyment of her stories.
Such a warm and lovely man. It was a privilege being in his care.

I still remember Doctor Cornell. He gave because he loved to inspire and because that was who he was. Always thinking how he could contribute.

I knew Dr. Cornell in Santa Fe. I was part of the team that built his house. I later designed and cared for his garden along with my wife, Karyn and our crew. We were young, just starting out. Doug and Judith showed so much love and respect for us. This gift has enabled me through the many years since our time together to give the same to others. What better legacy can anyone have than to teach others how to love and respect? Thanks Doc!

My mentor, my friend, my second Dad. I wish you peace. I worked for Dr. Cornell for 11 wonderful years at the National Academy of Sciences. I was his administrative assistant. It was the best job I have ever had. He made it fun to come to work. We became close friends & remained in touch throughout his retirement. My husband, Mrs. Cornell, Dr. Cornell & myself experienced a special bond. I will miss him dearly. My sincere sympathy to Mrs. Cornell & the entire Cornell family.
