SEYMOUR EPSTEIN Obituary


SEYMOUR G. EPSTEIN  
SEYMOUR G. EPSTEIN, known to friends as "Sy" passed away on January 29, 2018, at the age of 82. He was born in Trenton, NJ and was a long-time resident of Silver Spring, MD. He attended Lafayette College on an accelerated Ford Foundation program thereby skipping his final two years of high school. He then earned a MS in metallurgy from Iowa State University. He worked for Battelle Laboratories and Brookhaven National Laboratory before joining the Aluminum Association in 1969 as Technical Director. A position he held until his retirement in 2000 and then continued on as a consultant until 2013 which afforded him the opportunity to pursue his passion for travel. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margery (Pitasky); sons, Bruce (Rachael) and Jeff; daughter, Sharon Ross (Greg); two grandchildren, Ericka and Neil; and sister, Lois Morris. He will also be missed by the members of the Game and Puzzle Club and Music Box Society. A memorial Service will be held at Glenview Mansion, 603 Edmonston Dr., Rockville, MD on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.www.sagelbloomfield.com
