Shahnaz Sheikh Obituary
Shahnaz Parveen Sheikh, beloved wife, mother, friend and cherished member of the Muslim community, passed away peacefully at her home in Bethesda on September 11, 2024 at the age of 78. Born on October 10,1945, Shahnaz lived a life marked by grace, kindness and selflessness, leaving an indelible imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was the devoted wife of Saeed M. Sheikh with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they built a beautiful family including their daughter Sarah Sheikh married to Kevin P. Blunnie and their cherished grandson, Kieran Sheikh Blunnie. Shahnaz was also the proud mother of her son Reza M. Sheikh whose life was enriched by her unwavering support and affection.
A wonderful friend to many, Shahnaz was the daughter of Latif and Mubarak Sheikh of Pakistan. Her noble upbringing was reflected in her grace and dedication to her community and loved ones.
Shahnaz was known for her elegance and humility. Her beauty was not only in her appearance but also in her character. She was a pillar in the Muslim community, deeply loved and respected by all who knew her. Her ability to bring warmth and comfort to those in need will forever be remembered.
Her passing leaves a profound void, but her legacy of love, kindness and grace will continue to inspire those who were blessed to have had her in their lives.
May she rest in peace and be granted the highest place in Jannah.

I've known Aunty Shahnaz and Uncle Saeed since I was a child - my parents were friends with them before I was born. I'll always remember Aunty's warmth & generosity that made her the consummate hostess, wonderful style, and that gorgeous, big laugh you could hear down the hall.

As an insecure high-school student, when I first met "Mrs Sheikh", I always found her to be engaging and warm - a parent I delighted chatting with. As time passed, I stayed close with Sarah but saw Shahnaz much less, to my detriment. Her elegance, graciousness and generosity always shined through when I did.
