Steve Larkin was a wonderful and thoughtful friend, an intelligent conversationalist, a man of good character, a classy gentleman and a whole lot of fun!! We were friends for 37 years and Steve, later Uncle Steve, always brought fun, laughter, and joy to me and my 4 children. He cannonballed in the pool, jumped on the trampoline, did puzzles, told us stories and we laughed. When we visited his lake house it was singing, fireworks, boating and water skiing. We laughed at wonderful memories that got more embellished and funnier as the years went on.

Steve had an incredibly quick wit and could turn a critical or rude remark into something funny we would laugh at over and over. He loved learning, teaching and sharing his knowledge, he was a gifted professor.

I will miss his birthday cards, polo shirts, uno games, seeing him standing with a USA newspaper tucked under his arm when we picked him up and our talks on the phone. His passing has left a big hole in my heart but I know with certainty we will meet a again in Heaven and the laugher will begin again.

As a former neighbor, in Prairie Village, we were able to watch Stephen grow from a young 10 year old to an accomplished adult. He will be missed by many friends and relatives. He was a sweet man.
