To my beloved Father, who I also remember as a Soldier, Veteran, and Friend. You are the true meaning of what a Father is. Loving, caring, and always ensuring Family came first. You are a hero, not only to me, but to America, defending our country against enemies in Holland, Germany, and Belguim during World War II. You are an Army professional, protecting America's interests in Japan, Iraq, Beirut, Washington, D.C and countless other places. You are a civil servant, working as an Economist and Engineer for the U.S. Government. You are my friend, taking me to high school, college, and pro basketball and football games, golf tournaments, Civil War battlefields, and watching countless sporting events on TV, living and dying with our local teams in Washington. And you are my wonderful Father, a remarkable man, a man of few words, but of many actions, making sure our family was always provided for, keeping us safe, and supporting our endeavors.
I will miss you, but I know you are no longer suffering and are with our loving God and Jesus. I love you very much and will see you in the New World.
Your loving son,
Alex
