Travis Hatfield Obituary


TRAVIS ARNOLD HATFIELD (Age 81)  
Of Locust Grove, VA, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at his residence. He was the devoted husband of Ann Hatfield for 46 years; father of Sarah O'Connor, Rebecca Townley, and Jonathan Hatfield; brother of Richard Hatfield; and grandfather of Christian O'Connor. He was preceded in death by his brother John (Lowell) Hatfield. Travis was born in Graham, TX and raised in Trinidad, CO. Travis served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955, earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal, and ended his service with the 93rd Armament & Electronic Maintenance Squadron. He graduated in 1966 from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Statistics. Travis was employed as a Computer Programmer Analyst from 1957 to 1989 with private industry, the National Security Agency, and finally retired from the Defense Communications Agency in Sterling, VA. Travis was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and American Legion for many years. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lake of the Woods Church, 1 Church Lane, Locust Grove VA 22508, with a private interment to follow at Culpeper National Cemetery. Reverend Robert Graver will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the: LOW Fire and Rescue, Inc., 104 Lakeview Parkway, Locust Grove VA 22508.
