Virgil Jackson Hood (Age 96)
Passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023 in Washington, DC, while holding the hands of his children. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra H. Magwood; son, Virgil J. Hood, Jr.; grandchildren; Kirsten Magwood and Virgil J. Hood, III, other loving relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Chevy Chase, MD. Please RSVP to [email protected] to secure your attendance. Contributions can be made to his tribute page to The Alzheimer's Association at alz.org

I met Virgil when I began employment for Arthur M. Reynolds, a prominent DC lawyer. He served as a consultant at Mayfair Mansions, Lincoln-Westmoreland Apartments, located in DC; and Baber Village in Seat Pleasant, MD. He was a friend and will be missed.

My condolences to the Hood family and friends. It was my pleasure to work for Virgil Hood on 4th & H. Street, NE Washington, DC at Associated Construction Corp as an Architect and Engineering apprentice for 2 years. Virgil Hood and Dexter Ferguson entrusted me with many Construction projects that to this day still stand in Washington, DC. Whenever I visit those sites I will forever be reminded of Virgil Hood and his friendship. You will be truly missed. - Thaddeus T. Hancock
