I would like to express my sincere sympathies to the Jarvis family and Betty Scott. I did not learn that Mr. Jarvis passed away until today, I work at 16th & P, saw the cars gathered at the church yesterday and wondered what was going on. I wished I had known, I would have stopped by to express my sympathies to the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Jarvis family: I am truly sorry to see this special man leave us all. He was a mentor to all of us at Hopkins who worked for and with him. But most of all I called him FRIEND. As a friend you couldn't ask for better than Ernie Jarvis. I know he is now in a better place, free of the pain, and free of the uncertaincees of life. My love to you all. Hold your heads high because Ernie left an indelible GOOD mark in this world of ours..

To the family of Ernie Jarvis:
There are several people who worked with Ernie during his tenure at Johns Hopkins Hospital who will never forget him. Ernie opened the door for several of us who otherwise would not have had an opportunity to advance. He was a mentor and a friend. He was a unique individual and appreciated by those whom he allowed into his circle of frinds. He will be missed.

To the entire jarvis family
please accept my deep and heartfelt condolences upon the loss of your beloved ernie and my longtime childhood friend. ernie shall be remembered as a warm, funloving, loyal friend and a courageous man who long fought the battle against lung disease. from the halcyon days of youth, playing bid whist on the jarvis porch on a late summer night to the painful, sober moments of a hospital visit, i will always think of ernie as a loving brother, son and father, a courageous and indomitable spirit-and a great friend. may god shine His light, love and compassion on ernie and the drew and jarvis families.

I was so sorry to hear about the death of Ernie. I recall his wonderful laugh and zest for good times. One memeory that I still smile about is being the guest on the family boat with him and his wife --back many years ago at the beach --one wonderful afternoon that I still cherish that captures the spirit of knowing how to enjoy life. My best regards to his family and friends. He certainly lived fully and to friends and family he will always be part of their memories. If you could not laugh around him, you missed it.

To the family of the late William Ernest Jarvis
I really will miss Ernie beacuse of his warmth, sensitivity and the honest friendship. One could not ask for a more loyal and devoted friend or a more formidable foe. I will also miss his wit and wicked sense of humor, as my great grandmother said ( I mean no disrespect by this statement) No fools no fun and Ernie was a loveable fool and so much fun. H really knew how to live . I learned much from him.

Ernie, Family and Friends,
Ernie, you are a wonderful mentor, as well as a good friend. We will miss you being here with us, but know you are with God. And, knowing you, you are probably getting a card game started up there.
We cherish our memories with you and I (Betty) thank you for your support at Hopkins and after Hopkins.
We are sorry for all of our loss, but know you are in better hands now. We will see you on the other side one day.
All Our Love,
John and Betty Gibula
