WILLIAM R. MICKENS (Age 59)
Peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Mickens; mother, Barbara J. Mickens-Farley; two daughters, Alexia Mickens and Moneé Mickens; sisters, Cynthia Lacey, Kim Mickens, Chonda Fleming and one brother, TaJuan Mickens (Jenal) and a host of relatives and friends. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, December 22, at Fort Washington Baptist Church, 11516 Fort Washington Rd., Fort Washington, MD 20744, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.www.briscoe-tonicfuneralhome.com

Just found out that Mickens, went "Home" earlier then he wanted to, but when "He" calls you go. Working with Mickens was a joy. I haven't worked at BTR/Consolidated for 3 years. (I had a stroke in 2015). His family is probably lost without him. John, my spouse, worked there for a while and I can hear that "Mickens" laugh when they would joke with each other. Prayers for the strength they need to mourn, heal, and found peace. Bless you, Nancy and John Quasney.

Phyllis, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Meeting people like William is rare. Having him as a friend, priceless. He always looked out for the other person. When I will think of him, I will always smile. His personality, his smile, his powerful presence encouraged everyone he came in contact with. My he rest in peace.
