William Perez "Bill"
On February 27, 2023 William "Bill" Perez, age 71 passed away in Cincinnati, OH with loved ones by his side.
Bill is preceded in death by his father Augustin Perez. Survived by his mother Doris Palmieri (Marty), his brother Carlos Perez (wife: Sherri); his wife of 51 years Regina Perez (Martini); his three children Carl Perez (wife: Amy), Sarah Perez (husband: Jonathan Cleary), and Catherine Perez (husband: David McKinney); and six grandchildren Jaiden, Alison, Payton, Maximilian, Penelope, and Zoe.
Bill emigrated to the United States in 1961 from Cuba unaccompanied during Operation Pedro Pan. He was a proud graduate of Purcell Marion High School in Cincinnati, OH (1969), the University of Cincinnati (B.A. in Psychology, 1978), and Miami University of Oxford, OH (Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, 1982). He served in the U.S. Air Force as a medic (1971-75). After military service and school, as a human factors scientist he delved into working on transportation safety research including working on contracts for the Federal Highway Administration and NHTSA over a career that spanned 41 years. He was a researcher, project manager, and a mentor to many. He also taught psychology courses at North Central College in Naperville, IL and George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
He was a devoted husband who always wanted to ensure that his family was taken care of. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers or thoughts and prayers the family suggests contributing in Bill's honor to the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society, or his alma maters (Purcell Marion High School in Cincinnati, OH or the University of Cincinnati).
The family will have a Celebration of Life Service for Bill on a future date.
