Sabra and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).

Bill was a close friend & relative to my parents (Norma & Harlan Koertje). They were so proud of all of his accomplishments. They remained close to both Bill and Sabra through the years & spoke fondly of both of them.
We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

To Mrs Smith and Family,
God Bless your family in this time of great loss. Adm Smith was my captain on the Henry L. Stimson SSBN 655 Blue. He awarded me my dolphins and during a patrol I caught him singing "Little Liza Jane" while inspecting my watch station. He visited me on the USS Spadefish while he was stationed in Italy. He woke me up while sleeping in the chief's quarter's and asked me to come see him in the wardroom. We had a nice talk about our shipmates on the Henry L Stimson. I told him that the Mediterranean air must be good for him because it changed his hair color from white to brown. He thought it was funny but the CO and XO about fell out of their chairs. He was a great naval officer and he was the glue that bonded the officers and men of the Henry L Stimson SSBN 655 Blue. I am sad about his passing and very proud to have known him.
