William D. Wooten, Jr.
Bill Wooten, 66, died peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Gilchrist Hospice Care near his home in Baltimore, MD. Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Lynchburg, VA, Bill graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College in Amherst, MA and had a distinguished career as a human resources executive and management consultant in the retail, banking, telecommunications, and non-profit industries. Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, JoAnne Lyons Wooten, his daughter, Ayanna Wooten-Days, son-in-law, Regiuel J. Days, grandson, William J. Days, granddaughter, Camiele J. Days, aunt, Virginia D. Jefferson, and many, many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held for Bill on Thursday, February 8 at 10:30 a.m. at March Life Tribute Center, 5616 Old Court Road, Windsor Mill, MD 21244. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bill's name to either the NAACP Legal Defense Fund or Gilchrist Hospice Care.

I am very saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I was looking to notify him of another person who recently passed away and was so saddened to hear he was no longer with us. Bill was an inspiration to me and offered great guidance while I worked for him. RIP Bill. Tina Goodman

Mr. Wooten was my manager many years ago. I never forgot him and what he taught me. He was a fine person and professional. I am saddened at his passing and extend my deepest condolences to the family. My thoughts are with you. Bonnie Kramer
