Beloved wife of William Greaney, Jr.; mother of Mary Taraska (Ron), William Greaney, III (Jill); Joseph Greaney (Tracy), James Greaney, Margaret Miller (Kurtis), and Michael Greaney (Pam); grandmother of Erin, Kelly, Rachel, Caroline, Brennan, Christopher, Taylor, Sarah, Breanna, Ryan, Luke, Michael, Jr., Christine, and Jack; great grandmother of Blake, McKenna, Hadley Winifred, Madigan, and Dillon. Dear Grandma, I will miss you more than you know but most of all I feel lucky. Lucky to have been your granddaughter and to have spent so much time with you over the years. I am forever grateful for how much you touched my life in indescribable ways. We always had a special bond and a "sixth" sense with one another. I will continue to look for you throughout my life. I know you are in a better place but you are still here. Your infamous sayings will forever replay in my memory.."scratch where you're mad and get glad," "high cockalora," and "better a tooth than an eye," to name a few. I have just learned of Winnie's passing from a mutual friend in Greenbelt. My Mother, June Zoellner Rousseau was a very close friend of Winnie's growing up in Greenbelt. She always spoke so fondly of her and loved the memories that the two of them had. I can't help but think that now, once again, the two girlfriends are together with a lot to talk about! My sympathies and thoughts go out to her family. God bless you all.

Dearest Greaney Family,

Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved Winnie. Winnie and Bill were our favorite couple at Brooke Grove. Winnie was always very kind and appreciative that we visited with her and Bill often. Bill really knows his sports! Whatever the topic, we enjoyed their company and conversations. We will miss Winnie so much at Brooke Grove. We would like to continue our friendship with Bill and his family. I am sure Bill will have very many great memories to share with his friends and family.

May your hearts be filled with fond memories of Winnie. I knew her years ago when I was her hair dresser. Every year at Christmas, I set up a nativity set that she made me years and years ago and I think of her. I will continue to charish it and the fond memories I have of Mrs. Greaney and her smile. Aunt Winnie was one of my favorites in life. A warm smile, a lovely Maryland drawl that would always say, "That's all right , Ellie, the back of your head is flat only because your mother left you on your back too long!" (as she smilingly gazed at my mother!)
She was always there for me in so many ways with special birthday cards (my God, she had 6 kids of her own!) and made me ceramic cat bowls for my kitties! She and uncle Bill always made me feel welcome any time I visited. She was so dignified and seemed to love everyone who came her way. A beautiful lady I will forever love. RIP dear, sweet, Aunt Winnie!
