Dear Ms. Shirley and Marina, I'm so sad to hear of the demise of Yasmin who was a good friend of mine who I lost touch with over the years. I recently spoke to her a earlier in the year and was supposed to meet her over my aunts house for a reunion but the weather was so bad that day, neither one of us could make it. I will miss Yasmin, she was a loving and yet so kind. Mostly I will miss her smile, she was indeed a beautiful person to have known. With deepest sympathy, April A. Carter ([email protected])

Dear Shirley and Marina, We were shocked when we heard of Yasmin's transistion. When we moved into your neighborhood, Yasmin was seven and David was two years old, now David is forty-three. That is a long time to have been friends. Yasmin was such a lovely person and we loved her dearly. The last time we saw you, Yasmin and Marina was at Trinity Episcopal Church shortly before we relocated. You have our deepest sympathy.

I haven't been in your life in years but you have always been on my mind and in my heart. We shared a life together in RAP and stayed in contact for many years afterwards, but I just found out today that our Lord and Savior called you home. My heart is sad and heavy but I know you are in a better place.
Ms. Khatin and Marina my condolences to you both. I will be praying for you. I will try to see you one more time. Rest in Peace....

I have known Yasmin since jr. high school - Rollingcrest in Hyattsville, MD. As with many with whom I recently connected from Rollingcrest. Back then, Yasmin was beautiful and was the best dressed. Man, she had such a beautiful smile. You would have thought that having beauty, voted best dress she would have alot of enemies, but it was the opposite, because of her sparkling personality she got along with everyone. Although, we have all had our share of hills and valleys in life, we are all connected by the common thread of "we never would have made it without GOD". I'm blessed and comforted by the fact that now Yasmin is with our heavenly father..that makes me smile.

Yasmin,
So many tears are flowing from my heart and soul for the angel that I call my BEST FRIEND. We shared so many fond memories that it's not enough space on the Washington Post. Ms. Khatin, I want you to know that I am deeply sadden by the lost of your daughter and my Best Friend. If ever you and Marina need me please know that I will be there at a drop of a dime. My heart is truley aching right now and for months and years to come. Words cannot express my pain. I'm just glad I was able to see her toward the end. I LOVE YOU KASMIN KHATIN in Life and Death forever always Sheila.

I have known Yasmin since jr. high school. I remember Rollingcrest jr. high school days like it was yesterday and also attending high school with Yasmin. My most fondest memory of Yasmin was during those years, in school...Man, that girl was the best dressed and had the most beautiful smile". You would thought with a gorgeous smile and the envy of all the girls in school, she would have many enemies, but no, it was just the opposite, Yasmin was very well liked. She had a sparkling personailty, one that carried her throughout her life. She was a amazing person that will be truly missed.
